The Ladies Committee has met and is delighted to announce that Ladies Competitions will resume from Wednesday 10th June with the Sheila Hill trophy


Davenport Golf Club is happy to announce a limited number of tee times will be available for Visitors which may only be booked up to 48 hours in advance.

COVID 19 – RETURN to GOLF

As from Monday 1st June we are now playng in 2, 3 or 4 balls with 10 minute tee times.

Gents competitions will resume from Saturday 6th June.

The Ladies Handicap Committee will discuss resumption of their competitions, probably from Wednesday 10th June.

All current social distancing will stay with the clubhouse and changing rooms remaining closed.

From the 1st June guests will be allowed with members. A decision on visitors tee times will be reviewed on Tuesday 2nd June.

Resuming Golf Information to Members

At a meeting earlier today, 12th May 2020, the Council agreed the guidelines set out below.

It is important to stress that this remains an extremely difficult situation throughout the UK and we are acutely aware that many lives have been lost to the COVID-19 pandemic. The effects of the virus will continue to be felt for a long time to come. As a club; we must work together to resume play responsibly. 
Playing Golf Under COVID-19 Restrictions
We have adapted our policies and procedures to ensure compliance with guidelines from golf’s governing bodies and Government restrictions. The safety of our staff and members is our priority. Please be assured that the following procedures are in place to ensure we are providing a safe environment to play golf and operate in.
We have a responsibility to ensure that we are monitoring the golf course and players to ensure that a safe environment is presented and maintained. With this in mind; the course will only be open for tee times specified on the booking sheets.
Play is not permitted to start outside of our bookable tee times.
Do not come to the club to play or practise without a booking

- All players are advised to come to club ready to play, play golf and leave thereafter.
- If you wish to collect clubs from the locker room, the professional will give you access between 8.30 and 11 am each day this week. Please take your clubs home with you.
- The clubhouse & all toilets are closed.
- Play will be from the 1st tee only and players must play the course in it’s standard hole order.
No Buggies are available from the Club, members may use their own buggies if required.
- Players must follow the “Play Safe, Stay Safe” guidlines below.

COURSE SET UP

Hole & Flagstick We have inverted the flagstick holders to reduce the depth of the hole and reduce contact points to make it easier and safer to retrieve your ball.
We have removed or decommissioned any items that players can touch including ball washers, benches, bins and the shoe cleaner.
Players must visually check before playing a blind shot where bells are/were in place especially the 11th , 13th and 18th
The practise area is open but only if booked in advance through the pro shop. The club professional is permitted to use the practice facilities for teaching purposes.

BEFORE THE ROUND

Bookings A maximum of 2 golfers per group is permitted members only at this time no guests
3 and 4 balls are not permitted even if all players share the same household.
All players MUST book a tee time online and can book up to 7 days in advance
Only one tee time per member per day may be booked. Members are asked to restrict themselves to no more than two rounds in a 7 day period at this time. This is under constant review tee times will be relased on a rolling basis.
There will be 10 minutes between tee times.Tee times will only be available between 8.00am and 8.00pm.
Under no circumstances just turn up and go on the course to play.
Greens staff have priority at all times
Players on the course are required to STAY ALERT to the ‘Play Safe Stay Safe‘ rules for their own and other players safety.
Arrival and Waiting to Play
- Players should arrive and not leave their car more than 15 minutes before their tee time.
- Park in a car park space leaving a one space gap in between the nearest car. Shoes should be changed at your car assuring that social distancing measures are followed.
- Players with a tee time may use the practice putting green before teeing off (no more than one group). Priority of use should be given to the players in the next group due to tee off.
- Players should make their way to the 1st tee at least 5 minutes before their tee time and wait away from players on the tee.
- Players should allow the person/group in front to exit the tee before making their way down the path and onto the tee.
- Players should not tee off before their allocated tee time.

DURING THE ROUND
- Maintain social distancing by keeping at least 2 metres (6.5 feet) from others at all times.
- Do not touch the flagstick and leave the flag in when putting.
- Remove balls from the hole with care.
- Only pick up and touch your own golf ball.
- Bunkers are currently not in play
- Do not share equipment such as rangefinders or clubs.

AFTER THE ROUND
Social distancing is as important after a round as it is during the round. When the round is over players must leave the course. Players should leave the club/facility immediately so that there are no gatherings around the clubhouse or car park areas.

OTHER GOLF RELATED MATTERS

- The initial stages of the re-introduction to golf will not include any competition play or supplementary rounds for handicap purposes.
- “Roll up” groups and “internal competitions” between separate groups of players are not permitted at this stage. This is social golf only no score cards will be issued.

EXTRA INFORMATION ON HOW YOU CAN HELP
- We ask you all to continue to follow the current government guidelines set out by the government and NHS.
- If you are feeling unwell or are showing symptoms such as a cough or high temperature, we politely ask you not to visit us.
- Carry and use hand sanitiser regularly.

STAY SAFE, PLAY SAFE
Thank you in advance for adhering to the above guidelines as we navigate our way back into the world of golf. Please be aware that the guidelines are not permanent; they have been implemented to ensure that the safety of everyone involved is a priority as we make our first small steps towards normality.
We hope that the restrictions will ease over time as government advice changes. In the meantime; The Council urge you to enjoy the things that have been missing over the last 7 weeks and appreciate what we have for the time being!

Wed 21st Oct-Ladies 14 hole competition holes 1-16 missing 7&8. Preferred Lies in the general area ( through the green). Please put your Winter Wheels on asap. PLEASE NOTE THAT FACE MASKS NOW HAVE TO BE WORN WHEN ENTERING THE CLUBHOUSE AND CAN ONLY BE REMOVED WHEN SEATED TO EAT AND DRINK.
